Frequently Asked Questions
Employers must provide quality accommodation for workers.
Workers typically arrive at the address after a minimum of 3 months. This is due to a two-week wait for the work permit and visa processing, which takes at least a month and a half.
If the employee doesn’t meet your criteria, you can terminate their contract like any other employee.
In case of termination, we assist in finding new employment for the worker, and if that fails, we repatriate them.
Work permits are issued for only one year or for seasonal workers for a period of 6 months. Considering the process of obtaining a work permit and visa, it usually takes between 2 – 3 months, unfortunately, due to government bureaucracy.
At least one month before the work permit expires, applications for extension must be submitted, along with the passport, old ID card, employee photos (for the ID card), accommodation owner’s statement, and company statement confirming accommodation at the specified location.
There are certain professions in Croatia that are in demand and for which work permit applications can be submitted without a labor market test. The list of these professions can be found here.
If you want to employ people in professions not on the list of shortage occupations by the Croatian Employment Service, a Labor Market Test must be conducted, lasting 2 weeks. If the labor market test indicates a shortage of labor in the domestic market, applications can be submitted for a specific number of workers.
